Sounds like some ridiculous medical fairy tale, right?
Well, those were the topics of two papers I had to write in the past two weeks. One was on liver cirrhosis for a nutrition class. We even had to make a sample menu which is a lot harder than it sounds when your patient is confused and has so many dietary restrictions that it's impossible to find him foods that he doesn't have to eat every day for variation. The other was for a recent class. How to tell someone is in pain if they can't express it through words. Never thought of that, I bet.
It's been a hell-hole lately. Really tiring and really frustrating. But what can you do?
